This shoot started with a simple question: what would a Bather campaign look like through our lens?
Bather makes swim trunks with thoughtful design, quality fabrics, and a brand aesthetic that sits at the intersection of lifestyle and chic without taking itself too seriously. Bonus points for being a local shop in our neighbourhood in Toronto. It's the kind of brand whose visual world aligns naturally with the work we love making, and we'd been thinking about what a collaboration could look like for a while.
We seized the thought on a warm afternoon at Ethan's cottage. No team, no brief, no budget, just good light, a pair of already well loved Bather trunks, and a “why not take a few photos for fun” kind of attitude.
The photos reflect our commercial work with location-forward visuals that are grounded in an environment and lifestyle that feels genuine. For a brand like Bather, whose identity is rooted in a certain quality of leisure, this felt like the right tone. Next time we do this we’ll be sure to have more than half a roll of film on hand, and perhaps someone other than ourselves to photograph!
If you're a lifestyle or apparel brand looking for commercial photography that feels lived-in and authentic, we'd love to talk :)
